CourtSense Tennis Camp at Ramapo - Full Day and Sleepaway Options

Four One-Week Sessions (June 25 – July 20)

The CourtSense Tennis Camp at Ramapo College is for participants ages 7-18, from beginners to tournament level players.  Our world class staff provides comprehensive tennis instruction, along with fitness and mental strategy education, in a fun, supportive environment. Each day is also balanced out with coached singles and doubles play opportunities.  This camp offers a full day program and has an overnight option that includes fun evening activities supervised by a mature, well-trained staff.

•    Full mornings devoted to stroke instruction, drills, and fitness
•    Lunch provided in modern air-conditioned Ramapo cafeteria
•    Free time after lunch in well-equipped, air-conditioned, game room/lounge with indoor swim option
•    Full afternoons devoted to supervised singles and doubles instruction and match play
•    Last afternoon hour offers extra drill help, videotaping, and a singles challenge ladder
•    4:1 Student to Coach Ratio
•    World Class, Mature, Tennis Teaching Professionals
•    Adult Supervision at All Times

Drop off at 8:45am each day
Lunch included
Pick-up at 5:00pm each day


Check-in Monday morning.  Check-out Friday afternoon.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included
Fun, supervised evening activities each night, including movie and mini-golf excursions
Participants are two to a room, grouped by age, and assigned a counselor who lives next door

* Overnight campers will be housed in Bischoff Hall at beautiful Ramapo College. Meals are provided in a modern, air-conditioned cafeteria next door, and there is always 24-hour adult supervision. Campers who enroll for multiple weeks have an option to stay over for a staff supervised weekend that includes an additional full tennis day. Each room has its own separate air-conditioning, bathroom and shower, fridge, and microwave. Furnishings include bed frame, mattress, large desk with desk chair, and wardrobe. There is a maximum of 2 campers per room, grouped by age and gender, with a counselor in charge who lives next door.

Daily Schedule:

8:00am – Breakfast for overnight campers
8:45am – Day campers dropped off at courts
9:00am – 12:00pm Stroke Instruction/Drills/Fitness
12:15pm – Lunch
1:00 – 2:00pm – Free time (Optional Swim)
2:00 – 3:00pm – Singles Instruction and Match Play
3:00 – 4:00pm – Doubles Instruction and Match Play
4:00 – 5:00pm – Extra Stroke Help; Singles Challenge Ladder
5:00pm – Day campers are picked up
5:15pm – Dinner for overnight campers
7:00pm – Evening Activity for overnight campers
10:15pm – Back to Rooms
10:30m – Lights Out

Ira Miller

CourtSense is pleased to announce that Ira Miller, the men’s and women’s tennis coach at NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology), will Ira Millerbe directing the CourtSense Camps at Ramapo College.

Coach Miller has been one of the most successful college coaches in the East for over 20 years, winning 17 conference championships. He has won 16 conference Coach of the Year awards and in 2012 was selected as the ITA Northeast Region Coach of the Year. Coach Miller is in the Hall of Fame at both Fairleigh Dickinson and Drew Universities and coached Yeshiva University to their first conference championship in any sport in 2014.

Outside of collegiate tennis, coach Miller has been a successful Eastern Section Zonal Coach, his team winning the gold in 2006. He also coached the U.S. junior team at the Pan American Maccabi Games in Mexico City, is a recipient of the ITA/USTA Campus Recreation Award, has been featured in numerous tennis publications, and has been directing successful summer camps for over 20 years.
